For a design contest I didn’t end up entering I created this collaged box. I used some old TV magazines for the picture clippings and created a whole new world. It’s in honor of my father, who has Alzheimers disease. He used to make these kind of boxes when I was young and I was always fascinated by it. He kept a box with clippings just in case and every newspaper was scanned for cool pictures before it was thrown away.
I tried to connect images together to create new worlds of meaning. Language means less and less and I think his world will become one of association. Just like he put these images together in the past.
I created it for a contest, but finished too late to enter. So I’ll just place it here. My goal is to try and enter a creative contest this year. Just for the sake of creating things. I loved making this box. So who knows what it’ll bring.
