Going on a vacation usually means I get torn between all my hobbies. This internal struggle happens while packing all our family stuff. Between the many many items we bring as a family of four I try to decide how to spend my time beforehand. I have beautiful visions of myself in an idyllic environment, creating art and sharpening my mind and skills. So should I bring my books, my pencils, my guitar, my juggling stuff, my laptop. What will I do with all this spare time?
I usually bring all of it.
In reality I spend a lot of time reading, playing board games with my kids, figuring out what and where to eat and taking daytrips as a family. The spare time I will have is in my mind always a lot bigger and longer and with less interruptions.
So this time I picked and packed just one hobby.
